West Midlands Children and Young Person’s Service (Previously West Midlands Paediatric Sexual Assault Service)
West Midlands Children’s and Young Person’s Service (CYPS) formally known as the Paediatric Sexual Assault Service (PSAS) provides a service to anyone up to the age of 17 who has experienced rape, sexual violence and/or sexual abuse, either recently or in the past. The service, sometimes previously referred to as SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre), is delivered by WMRSASC in partnership with several hospitals and SARC’s.
The service covers the West Midlands, West Mercia and Warwickshire police force areas and will operate an in-reach service from five designated Sexual Assault Referral Centres:
- Blue Sky Centre, George Eliot Hospital, Warwickshire
- The Glade, Bransford, Worcestershire
- Royal Wolverhampton Hospital, Wolverhampton
- Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham
- New Cross Hospital- Wolverhampton
An acute service is available 24/7 for Children and Young People who have recently experienced (within the last 3 weeks) rape, sexual violence or abuse. This is located at:

To make a referral into this service a call must be made to the following number:

A referral can be made by a professional such as the police or a social worker, or self-referrals are available to anyone over the age of 13 or for those who don’t have or want police involvement. Referrals can be made 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
